Dangerously Beautiful

Holy well-attended party, Miami! Wednesday night I headed over to the Fontainebleau for a new weekly, Dirty Hair. Boasting a fairly hipsterlicious line-up each week, I’ll probably be out there again.

Fabio and Britney from Acrylick in L.A. were in town on a Miami reconnaissance trip. Here they are still in LA mode.

Then a magic Miami magician appeared and cast a spell.

And suddenly they rep the 305.

DJ Contra with his usual good selection.

There were a lot of women dancing on bars and table tops. They were all about size 0-2, so you would not want to see them try to make a table top.

Usually Smoothy and I deliberate over how we should go out more often, and the second we are out, wonder why we bothered. At this night I saw many people I had not seen in a very long time, and in typical Miami fashion, generally ignored the music and talked the night away. Now that’s what I call a party.

What makes this lone snapshot of the MAGIC tradeshow so different from the already innumerable count I have posted over the last year is that this picture is of the very first Dangerously Beautiful booth. We were very busy, almost non-stop around the clock. All in all, the fruits of all this labor shall be revealed throughout 2009 and beyond (I had a small preview of Spring 2010). I hope you stick around for the ride.

I (Dauche) am here in San Diego kicking myself in the axx for missing it (magic that is). We’ll I’m not going to cry about it, but I do wish that I could have participated in this years festivities. So at this very moment I am speaking with Deviant, and was told that set-up took 3 hours, but the good thing about it is that the hotel they are staying at is right next door (so if they’ve forgotten anything it’s only about 3 steps away; lol). Well I don’t want to bore you readers too much; but I will say this… you will be hearing more from me soon …

How time does fly.

What seems like ages a go, I began working on the Dangerously Beautiful Summer 2009 season…and then the Fall 2009 season…..and then the Holiday 2009 season.

Along the way, we were asked to showcase Dangerously Beautiful at MAGIC in the S.L.A.T.E. section. That brought on the necessity to get all those mega-wonderful designs and ideas ready to go early on. In the midst of choosing the right cuts and styles, colors and materials, we met a few dope people who have really helped us out, most of whom are South Florida locals which makes the home-town connection stronger.

And then, as I have done the last two times we headed out to Las Vegas, I broke the blog. I was too tied up (and still am) to fix things up, but here we are: Me giving a recap of the going-ons since my last post and you salivating for new DB designs. All in due time.
