It seems like very few actually wear short shorts anymore. While “Daisy Dukes” will never really go out of style, the world of shorts has changed a bit. Bermudas would have to be my favortie at the moment, while others are liking the sailor look. The sequence shorts or shorts that look like a skirt don’t quite work for my body type, but I have seen them pulled off nicely. Denim shorts are always a winner and longer shorts are being worn when going out at night. Whatever you choose, make sure to bring your Malicious But Delicious attitude. What are favorite types of shorts?
Dangerously Beautiful will be featured in Dondria’s new video “Shawty What’s Up”. She really has a nice voice as mentioned in a previous post. We’ll let you know about the video when it drops. I was truly surprised last night by the 2010 BET Awards. It was actually really good. I loved Nia Long and Lorenz Tate resiting Love Jones (one of my absolute favs!!) I can’t say there were any performances that sucked, just some that I liked more than others. What I realized at the end, there were actually more performances than awards given. This may have sucked for the artists, but I think I like it better that way!
I would love to tell you about it in great detail, but then the post would be super long. So I’ll just give a brief rundown of my favorites from last night. Alicia Keys did great as usual and pregnancy really enhanced her beauty. Monica wore a rather strange ensemble, but sounded amazing as usual (that note she held for hours was just beautiful). El Debarge had me reminiscing (made me feel a little old that I knew all of the songs he performed). But my top two performances, I had to share with you! Check them out below. What were your favorite moments of the 2010 BET Awards?
I loved Prince growing up! No, not liked, but loved!!! The Dangerously Beautiful women did an awesome job! From Alicia getting on top of the piano (prince’s face was priceless), to Patti kicking off her shoes, the tribute was one of the best I have ever seen. I’m glad Prince approved!
I know Chris Brown wasn’t able to perform last year, but this was the best Michael Jackson tribute I’ve seen. You can tell that CB used to watch MJ as a kid and imitated him in the mirror (didn’t we all). But when he performed, he didn’t just do the steps, you could see that he was dancing from the heart. He really did MJ justice. I must say that I believe his tears were real and heartfelt. The mix of dancing his ass off, being Michael for the moment, infused with the super emotional song Man In The Mirror, made me a bit teary eyed before he started crying, so I could only imagine what he was feeling. Excellent execution.
Michael Jackson died a year ago today and it still feels surreal. Of course, I have tons of favorites, but this is the one I’m feeling today. I liked the fact his videos normally had a little story to them. Also, musically, this song is awesome. But Michael never failed to deliver music that touched your soul. I love it! We miss you Michael. What MJ song are you feeling today?
It’s that time of year once again. Besides all of the regular memories of summer like the beach and heat (I really don’t think it’s hot anywhere else like Miami), I love driving down the street and buying lychees. As I was leaving the store yesterday, to my surprise there is a guy standing on the corner selling them. I freak out a bit because I never carry cash and these vendors don’t exactly offer options. But I remember that I have some change in my pocket. I ask the guy how much for a pound and he tells me $3. Well I only had $2.50. No worries, great thing about street vendors, every dollar counts, so negotiations are welcomed. He offers me a sample and as I popped that delicious fruit in my mouth, I’m tempted to go to the ATM and get some more cash! If you haven’t tried them, you really should. You won’t be disappointed!
This has to be one of the coolest things I’ve seen created by a woman. The Rape-axe is a female condom with a new design, with teeth like hooks in a way to harm rapists. Invented by Dr. Sonnet Ehlers, this condom can be inserted like a tampon and has jagged rows of hooks on the inside and it works by attaching to a man’s penis during penetration. And once attached, it can only be removed by a doctor.
Ehler states, “It hurts, he cannot pee and walk when it’s on. If he tries to remove it, it will clasp even tighter… however, it doesn’t break the skin, and there’s no danger of fluid exposure.”
The attacker is ‘branded’ a rapist and the victim is given time to get away.
That’s a real Dangerously Beautiful woman. Great invention.
Today is the first day of summer. Let the good times begin! When I think of summer I think of the beach, ICEES, sunblock, watermelon, and Jay Z’s Big Pimpin. What are your memories of summer?
I’m not really a huge basketball fan. As you recall I just went to my first Heat game this year. But when I was younger, I did like to watch Michael Jordan. Besides the fact that he was/is super sexy, he amazed me with his ability to leverage himself in the air to make a dunk. Not to take away from Kobe (I don’t like him as a person, but I can’t deny his skills) but it’s just not as entertaining to watch him play as it was watching Jordan. What do you guys think?
