Shrimp Scampi Pasta
Thursday, July 29th, 2010
Now here’s something that I can eat everyday. I love shrimp. I can’t even think of a way that I don’t like shrimp. I recently had shrimp scampi pasta and it was so good that I had to go home and try to make it myself. Super delicious! I think the secret for me is to make sure there are more shrimp than pasta and use a little white wine with lemon in the sauce. Yummy! What’s your favorite shrimp dish?

Friday, July 23rd, 2010The Wiz came on the other day (one of my childhood favorites) and I felt bad that I had forgotten just how good the music was from this movie. I had the soundtrack on vinyl. They just don’t make music like this anymore. This song cures a bad day in a hard beat. One of MJ’s classics. Remember, “don’t you carrying nothing that might be a load..Ease on down the road.”
French Fries
Thursday, July 22nd, 2010
There’s nothing like fresh, hot french fries with just the right amount of salt. Yummy! It’s like each little one has its own personality. Some are crunchy while others are soft and melt in your mouth. And most times ketchup is a must. The sweet and salty combination is just perfect. I’ve had great ones from all over, but my favorite ones are when I cut up potatoes and fry ‘em up in a little olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt. Mmmm! Are you guys nuts for french fries like I am?
Super Weird….
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010Now this has my mind boggled. It goes against everything you ever learned in biology. How is it a Black Nigerian couple from London have a blonde haired blue eyed baby? Immediately I started thinking he may not be the daddy (sorry, I grew up with Jerry and Maury… You are NOT the father!), but he is in fact the father of this child. No, there’s isn’t any mixed-race family history. No, the baby isn’t an albino. WTF?!?!?
Professor Bryan Sykes, head of Human Genetics at Oxford University and Britain’s leading expert, yesterday called the birth “extraordinary”. “This might be the case where there is a lot of genetic mixing, as in Afro-Caribbean populations. But in Nigeria there is little mixing…The hair is extremely unusual. Even many blonde children don’t have blonde hair like this at birth.” The expert said some unknown mutation was the most likely explanation. He admitted: “The rules of genetics are complex and we still don’t understand what happens in many cases.”
Wow, I would hate to have to explain that one to my child’s father. I’m just saying…weird.
