Can We Say Disgusting!!!!

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Ok, even though I’m not a bacon lover, isn’t a bacon sundae going too far!  I mean come on, I can understand a bacon sampler, a sandwich and even bacon meatloaf (why someone would want that is beyond me), but a Maple Bacon Sundae?!?!? Maple flavored syrup, vanilla ice cream, and “a generous sprinkle of  diced hickory-smoked bacon.” Does that sound good to anyone? This is definitely out of control.

North Carolina’s First Bald Beauty

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

Sandra Dubose-Gibson was crowned as the 2011 Mrs. Black North Carolina this past weekend. Sandra proves that you don’t need hair to be Dangerously Beautiful. Twelve years ago, at age 25, Dubose-Gibson lost all her hair to alopecia, a disease that causes the body’s immune system to attack hair follicles. As Mrs. Black North Carolina, Sandra will encourage women of all races to value their inner beauty.

“My mission is to be the catalyst that enables women to heal the experiences that have eroded and challenged their self-esteem,” she said in a statement. “I am here to help them see the beautiful human beings they truly are and boldly celebrate that beauty and strength from the inside out.”

Ladies, don’t let clothes, make up, and not even hair define your beauty.  We’re all Dangerously Beautiful. It’s what’s on the inside that matters!

Trina- Diamonds Are Forever

Monday, March 28th, 2011

I’m not a fan of the album cover. I am a fan of Trina. Maybe it’s because she’s a home-town lady of Miami. Maybe it’s because she ‘s been memorable since “Nann.” Maybe it’s because she always has her own style & has become classier & classier as she further defines her brand. Maybe it’s because she truly is the baddest chick.

Mixtape drops today. Download Here.

Flashback Friday-Touch It

Friday, March 25th, 2011

I must admit that Chris Brown’s song Look At Me Now really makes me reminisce of all the great songs Busta Rhymes has done.  When he’s featured on a song, he KILLS it! I could have posted so many other classic hits, but Touch It has special memories for me.  This was the first time I heard Busta live and it was at a Mariah Carey concert. I must say that he sounds just like the album live! I loved the remix below as well. One of my all time favorite rappers for sure! Happy Friday!

Check out the remix!

Vision- Phylicia Rashad

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

“It’s not about the way you look, it’s about the way you are. It’s not about how I look, it’s about the way I am.”- Phylicia Rashad

Rashad’s letter is to her 21-year-old self:

Dear Phylicia,

Romantic involvement distracts you and can blind you to what’s really in front of you. And what really is in front of you? You are. You don’t even know yourself yet. You think you know and you want to assert that you do, now that you’re a certain age, but you don’t. What’s in front of you is a whole world of experiences beyond your imagination. Put yourself, and your growth and development, first. There are long-term repercussions to what you’re doing now. Everything you do, every thought you have, every word you say creates a memory that you will hold in your body. It’s imprinted on you and affects you in subtle ways—ways you are not always aware of. With that in mind, be very conscious and selective.

With high hopes for you,
Phylicia

What advice would Phylicia share with her younger self? “I would tell [myself] not to be so preoccupied with looking for approval from other people,” she says. “You’re never going to be anybody other than who you are, and who you are is greater than [you] imagine. The way that we think creates our reality—it’s very powerful. I would say to a young girl who’s feeling insecure about her looks, ‘Stop!’ Who you are is not the way you look—who you are is who you are on the inside. There’s not a mirror in the world that can show you that. It is beautiful; it is amazing; it is awesome.”

Rest In Peace Elizabeth Taylor

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

What a dangerously beautiful woman! Elizabeth Taylor known for personal life just as much as her professional life, passed away today. She was great in Cleopatra and I always thought she beautiful. Of course she was sexy and glamorous, but her beauty and talent were overshadowed by her personal life and struggles. Let’s reflect on all the good that she did. Her involvement with AIDS research when no one else would stand for the cause earned her the Presidential Citizens Medal in recognition of her commitment to philanthropy and was made a Dame Commander of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II in 1999. She’s no longer with us, but she will always be One of Hollywood’s most legendary beauties. Her son said that “she was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor and love.” At the end of the day, sounds like an awesome way to live life!

Women Rule The Internet

Monday, March 21st, 2011

I don’t know if you all know how much power you really have! As you know, the internet has changed the way we shop, research, and even the way we communicate. And guess what, women are the ones responsible for this change. For example, Facebook is what it is today largely because of women. Yes it was created by a guy, but women are responsible for its growth. Women contribute 62 % of the site’s activity and generally have 8% more friends than men.
We’re not only social butterflies, women oversee over 80% of consumer spending, according to the US Census Bureau. That’s about $5 trillion dollars annually! (wow, that could get you tons of DB gear) But don’t just think about the spending. The majority of successful new e-commerce companies are founded by women as well!
Women rule, simply put! So hold your heads up high as we take over this male dominated society and show how Malicious But Delicious we truly are.  If you’re a Lady Boss, raise your hands and stay Dangerously Beautiful!
