I’ve wanted to read this book for quite some time. Heard about a horrific rape scene and decided against it. But when the US version of the movie came out, my curiosity took over my rational thoughts. After all, the US version of the rape scene can’t be that bad, right? Of course my honey saw the original and says the US version is light compared to the original. Well, I won’t suggest going with a full stomach. Besides that, I really enjoyed the movie. I actually figured things out in this one, because you have no choice but to pay attention to what’s going on. Entirely engaging.
Even though the movie stars Mr. 007 himself, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by Rooney Mara. Outstanding job! I thought she was a newcomer and this was her first movie, but after seeing the movie I had to know more about her. Hair and makeup did an amazing job. Can you believe this is the same girl that was is The Social Network? She was Erica Albright (or the one that told Mark Zuckerberg to “Fuck Off!“). In this movie she is a true bad ass. Definitely Dangerously Beautiful.
I hate to go into details of movies, because I hate to give away anything (well you already know there’s a rape scene). But The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a must see. Super intense. This movie will have you gasping with both horror and provocative delight. Just a word of caution, go easy on the soda. This movie was over 2 and half hours (it goes by pretty fast). With serial murder, rape, and countless plot twists, you don’t want to miss anything going to the bathroom.
