Ahh yes!!! The holidays are upon us and it’s time for one of my favorite beverages…EGGNOG! I normally get some for my after Thanksgiving  meal desert signifying that Christmas is right around the corner. I don’t drink alcohol, so I like my straight up! I love this thick delicious beverage in a cup with ice, in my coffee, or my newly favorite in a shake! Sprinkle a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon and I am in heaven! Malicious But Delicious! Happy Holidays DB!

I often find myself craving gyros. Not as much as Mexican food (I really think there’s something my mom hasn’t told me), but it’s pretty bad when I do. The problem I have is there aren’t any good spots near me! Major bummer… Well my taste buds can get ready to get more gyros! Gyroville recently opened up in Doral and is pretty close to my “daytime job.” It’s like a fast food gyro place with excellent quality and friendly service. My favorite gyro is the Hera. Grilled chicken souvlaki with crisp lettuce, tomato, feta and your choice of dressing. They offer 4 different types of Tzatziki sauces, but I normally get the spicy feta , or as I refer to as my “crack”sauce (pictured above). Super simple ingredients, but extra fresh and filling! Now if only I could exchange the McDonalds near my house for a Gyroville… Malicious But Delicious!

So some of you may find me weird because I’m not a big popcorn fan. What can I say, I’m a sweets kind of girl. So when kettle corn was introduced to the microwave world I was little excited, but disappointed that it wasn’t as sweet as I like. Well lookey here! Orville Redenbacher has officially made a fan out of me with this new Kettle Korn. It’s the best of both worlds! You have salty corn and super sweet corn. This stuff is DANGEROUS! I don’t even think it should be legal, I mean it’s literally crack! The corn is so crisp and crunchy. The sweet pieces are glazed perfections that crumble perfectly in my mouth and the salty pieces make me want to eat more sweet pieces and it just goes on and on until the break of dawn! Before you know it, the entire bag is finished! Brace yourself and start with the small bag first! Malicious But Delicious!

One of the greatest products I’ve had this year is Coco Cafe! Coconut Water and coffee, say what?!?!?! This is the perfect mid day combo. Coconut water is soo refreshing and the pop of caffeine gives you that extra boost to make it through the day. There’s also a splash of skim milk involved, but you don’t taste it (thank goodness, I’m sooo not a milk fan). I know it looks like your traditional Starbucks bottled Frappuccino, but tastes nothing like that sugary synthetic thing! This for real coffee and coconut water drinkers. Put it in the freezer for a bit and have a little slushy! Malicious But Delicious!!!

OK, for the rookies, I know you’re a bit confused by the picture above. Is it pizza, is it bread, maybe a pot pie?!?!?!? Well for the regulars at Norman’s we all know Forgoza bread when we see it! So yes it’s technically bread, but it’s deeper than that. This pull apart cheese and herb bread is a staple for the seasoned Norman Brothers Produce shopper. Once you start pulling the crunchy by moist bread, there’s no stopping until its gone. So if you are looking for the perfect item to bring to a dinner (psst….Thanksgiving much), you will impress everyone with this Forgoza bread. My only recommendation is to get 2 because you’ll want your own!!!! Malicious But Delicious!

Hello, my name is Latrice, and I am addicted to coffee. Those of you that know me, know that I’m not exaggerating. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink alcohol, and I rarely drink soda, but I have coffee EVERYDAY. I believe I’m anemic because I probably have coffee running through my veins instead of blood. With that being said, I’m always into trying new coffee shops. I’ve been let down tons of times by coffee houses that charge ridiculous prices for coffee below Starbucks standards. I know, for most people Starbucks is the palace of coffee, but for me, that’s my go to “fast food” coffee. Now before you get your undies in a bunch, I frequent Starbucks and I’m not putting them down (in fact,I’m a gold card holder), but their Latte can’t satisfy a true caffeine craving.

While walking the streets of downtown Miami with my honey, we came across a super cute and trendy place by the name of Roho Cuban Coffee.  The name alone was intriguing enough, but the smell of those delicious coffee beans assured me that I had found a new gem! Before I had time to think about what to eat, I ordered Mima’s Cortadito. Being somewhat of a cortadito aficionado (hey, I’ve lived in Miami my entire life and probably had my first cortadito before the age of one), I went to check out the barista at work. They use the Italian made Victoria Arduino machine to prepare their coffee (considered the “Ferrari” of coffee machines and there are only 6 used in the US). I got the doble of course (double shot of coffee) and I was in heaven. Words can’t describe the nuclear explosion in my mouth after the first sip of liquid gold that came out of that cup! I quickly became friends with Andrea (the barista), because anyone that can make a cup of coffee like that needs to be on my speed dial! If you want to a true taste of coffee, take a trip to Roho, ASAP! Malicious But Delicious!

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting Rita’s in West Palm Beach. I don’t know why my taste buds have been deprived of such yumminess, but now is the time to make it all up! I love Italian ice, but those places never seem to stay in business here in Miami. Super weird considering that it’s HOT 350 days of the year. Back to Rita’s…They have tons of flavors like traditional cherry, blue raspberry, and watermelon. Weird flavors like Swedish fish also make appearances (tastes just like the candy), but that’s weird as an Icee. So after 20 taste tests, mango and pineapple won me over! Now I’ve had a Gelati at other places which is Italian ice with ice cream, but at Rita’s, they have frozen custard Gelati! For those that are unfamiliar with frozen custard, imagine extra rich and creamy ice cream and you’ll have a slight hint of frozen custard. It was Malicious But Delicious and I’ve been craving one ever since!  If you ever see a Rita’s, be sure to run in and grab a Gelati!

This week I bring you my latest addition…Werther’s Original Caramel Apple! When I first spotted this bag with lime green goo, I thought this is going to be gross. Oh well, let me grab a bag to put in the candy dish on my desk (of course they were on sale). If it’s really bad, maybe I won’t have to fill the thing every week. Well my inner fat girl had to know just how bad they were, so I reached over and popped one in my mouth. I love caramel, so everything was all good, then the apple started to slowly ooze from the center. Yummilicious! Before I knew it, I had eaten 5! Tastes similar to a candy apple without having to worry about breaking my teeth. I moved the dish all the way to the door, because these are bad news. Grab a bag today, you won’t be disappointed. It’s not that I was thinking about chocolate cake, but nothing sums up indulgence better than a rich, thick, gooey, & ever-so-sinful slice of life.

For your waistline it’s malicious, but it’s so delicious.

I know, how can a salad be Malicious But Delicious….but believe when I say it’s true! Don’t let the green stuff fool you, the Southern Fried Chicken salad at Big Pink on south beach is to die for!  Yes, you have your typical salad ingredients of lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. But pair that foundation with crisp corn, sweet red onions, moist yet crunchy chicken tenders and wait for it…maple glazed pecans! It comes with a side of ranch dressing, but for me the mixture of textures and flavors are powerful enough on their own! Malicious But Delicious in deed!
